한국에서 첫 번째 모험

Yep... We're back... Sorry everybody, it's been a while but I promise that the blog will be updated more often. Well, just how the title says... 한국에서 첫 번째 모험 - means our first adventure in Korea...

Our first real adventure started 2 Saturdays ago. We wanted (Stefan, Brady and I) to go around the city in the car, like a city tour.

We did. Went to some really nice places... and then on our way back the car dies. In the middle of a street with 3 lanes and heavy traffic. The car didn't do anything anymore. We thought of changing the shift to neutral and pushing the car to the curb but everything was blocked.

All the people in their cars were screaming at us... we created a HUGE, I mean huge, traffic jam. The cars were all honking. The police came... didn't speak one word of English, of course... the Dog is barking and crying in the back of the SUV. I am about to cry too... No one can understand us.

We called the people from Herz (rental company) to help us.... answer we got = oh.. no speke englishe.. bye bye (I could hear the fucking smile in the bye bye). I called back and after I screamed at him like crazy to get someone who speaks english, a lady came on the phone, she spoke english, the day was saved. NOT.

It's not over.. the tow truck that they sent got lost and couldn't find us it took them an hour to get there. The traffic was better though because we had our own little (I mean really little) police officer directing traffic - he was like 1 meter high and looked like he was 12 years old.

So, they towed the SUV away - you have Stefan grabbing the dogs crate, Brady on a leash and me with 2 litres of water a bag and a camera and a grumpy disposition in the middle of Seoul. We need a car. We went to the next Herz office.... three blocks away... yeah right!! three Korean blocks away.. it's like a 45 minute walk. We decided to stay back with Brady because it was just too much, so I stayed back in a little park with the crate, the dog and the bags. Stefan went to get the car... one and a half hours later... Stefan comes back... with a car. Brady is sleeping, I'm freezing and Stefan is almost in tears.

Moral to the story - Learn Korean as fast as you can, walk whenever possible and leave the dog at home.
